Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese method used to relieve some health conditions and symptoms, such as pain. It involves inserting very thin needles into your dog’s skin at multiple “acupoints.” The needles re-balance your dog’s body’s energy, or qi, and prompt your body to release natural chemicals to fight the illness or symptom. Dr. Leavey also offers other services at our facility such as wellness exams, vaccines, titer testing, and more.

Laser Therapy

Laser therapy uses wavelengths of light to stimulate cells to help promote healing, increase circulation, decrease pain and inflammation. This therapy works great on acute conditions, wound healing, as well as chronic conditions and is non-invasive with no side effects. Laser therapy can benefit a wide variety of dogs from senior dogs to the canine athlete.

PEMF Therapy

Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Field therapy penetrates the body and directly impacts cell ions and membrane potential to stimulate them into action. This increases cellular communication and circulation, decreases inflammation and pain, and results in an acceleration of healing. This is a non-invasive therapy with no side effects that can be used to help treat a wide variety of acute and chronic ailments.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is a holistic, all natural approach to treating a number of joint, muscular and skeletal problems. Chiropractic care restores health and prevents injury by improving the structural integrity of the body, primarily the spine. Almost all dogs can benefit from regular chiropractic care whether you have a puppy, a pet, a sport dog, a senior dog, or anything in-between.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues in the body to improve muscle and joint function by relieving tension, spasm, or other restrictions to proper motion. Massage therapy can benefit a wide range of dogs from competition dogs to senior dogs.

Shock Wave Therapy

Shock wave therapy is a noninvasive, high-energy, sound wave treatment commonly used in human and veterinary medicine. It helps the body in relieving pain, speeding healing, and improving the quality of healing. Shock wave is a much higher energy treatment and can penetrate deeper areas than many other types of modalities.

We require a referral from a veterinarian for our Shock Wave Therapy and it is recommended for our other modalities as well (but not required).
